Hallam has a story unlike anywhere else we serve. On May 22, 2004, an F4 tornado, at the time the widest ever recorded at 2.5 miles across, struck the town and destroyed most of it. Permits and zoning in Hallam
In Lincoln, most residential fences under 7 feet do not need a building permit, but the city zoning ordinance still applies. Front-yard fences are limited to 36 inches and must be at least half open, and side and rear fences can go up to 6 feet, with sight-triangle rules near corners and streets.
